Working in Partnership
Throughout the teaching experience the trainee, teacher mentor, visiting/quality assurance tutor and/or Initial Teacher Education Coordinator will all work collaboratively to support the training and development needs of each trainee. The university also conducts quality assurance visits to ensure that the opportunities and experience for all are fair and consistent.
Aims of working in partnership:
To continually strive to provide high quality opportunities which enable trainees to develop the knowledge, skills, understanding and attributes to become outstanding teachers who raise the educational outcomes for all children.
The roles and responsibilities of all members of the Primary PGCE Partnership (trainees, the University, schools and teacher mentors) is clearly set out in the University of Leicester Primary PGCE Partnership Agreement, a copy of which is held by headteachers of all Partnership Schools. Lead Partners will have their own Partnership agreements which will outline their specific responsibilities.
