Teaching a sequence of PE lessons

All trainees are required to teach a sequence of PE lessons during either Phase 2 or 3.

You will need to ensure that you are familiar with the Health and Safety policies of the school and that you understand, and can follow, the school policies and protocols for teaching PE. Please refer to the resources on Blackboard and refer to the afPE Safe Practice handbook in your Phase 3 school (https://www.afpe.org.uk/physical-education/afpe-launch-new-2020-edition-of-safe-practice/).

Remember, you will need to change into clothing that is suitable to teach PE. If you have not already done so, you need to plan a sequence of PE lessons collaboratively with your teacher mentor and/or PE specialist. In planning the sequence you will need to:

  1. observe a PE lesson taught by your teacher mentor or PE specialist
  2. collaboratively teach a PE lesson with your teacher mentor or PE specialist
  3. continue teaching the sequence of two to three PE lessons with your teacher mentor/PE specialist present at all times.

When you have completed the task, upload your planning to the directed tasks folder in your Phase 3 OneDrive folder.
