Seeking support

If a situation is critical and there is an immediate risk to a person’s wellbeing or safety please call 999

If you have been feeling unwell we advise that you seek the advice and support of your GP. Remember this includes your mental health and wellbeing.

For urgent medical help which is not a life-threatening ring 111 to speak to a trained professional who will direct you to the appropriate NHS service.

University Security are available 24/7 and are able to provide First Aid, and respond to incidents on campus and in halls of residence. They can also support with reporting incidents to the police. Call 0116 252 2023 or 888 in an emergency.

We would advise that you let your personal tutor know that you are experiencing difficulties as soon as possible.

If you have experienced a significant event beyond your control that has affected your health or personal life and as a result you are struggling to meet an assignment deadline or prepare for a scheduled exam, please refer to the mitigating circumstances guidance, as adjustments may be able to be put in place for you:

Student Counselling at the University

Counselling offers you the opportunity to talk in confidence with someone who is impartial.
