University of Leicester (Joint) PGCE Partnership Management Group (PMG) 2024-25

About the PGCE Partnership Management Group (PMG)

The purpose of the group is to ensure that the University of Leicester’s PGCE provision, as delivered through the Partnership, continues to meet the needs of the Partnership, both in terms of quality and outcomes. Membership comprises of senior leaders from the Partnership group of schools, including those delivering Lead Partner provision, and UoL senior management colleagues. You may have a colleague you feel would be well placed to attend on your behalf.

Proposed dates are as follows:

Thursday 26th September 2024, 3-5pm
Thursday 27th February 2025, 1-3.30pm
Wednesday 21st May 2025, 3-5pm

It would be really helpful to have the meetings face-to-face, but we will make a decision on whether online is more convenient and let you know for each meeting.

If you would be interested in joining our PGCE PMG for the coming academic year, please contact pgcepartnerships@le.ac.uk

I have included the terms of reference to give you an idea of the remit of the group. The PMG is joint for Primary and Secondary but we may spend some parts of the meetings in phase specific groups if there are particular elements of the course which relate more to Primary or Secondary.

During our successful Ofsted inspection in February this year, the PMG were a vital part of the process and spent time talking to inspectors about improvement planning and the development of the PGCE courses. I send out a termly report to all members before each meeting which provides information on recruitment, training and any ongoing updates to the course.
